Toronto RB Robertson among CFL weekly award winners

07/07/2009 - Toronto, ON (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Toronto running back Jamal Robertson, Saskatchewan defensive end Stevie Baggs, Montreal kicker Damon Duval and Argonauts defensive tackle Adriano Belli were named the CFL's top players for the opening week of the season.

Robertson took offensive honors after rushing for 124 yards and a touchdown and catching three balls for 53 yards in the Argonauts' 30-17 win over Hamilton.

Baggs grabbed the defensive player of the week accolades with a two sacks, a forced fumble and a recovery in the Roughriders' 28-24 win against division rival British Columbia.

Duval was selected as the top special teams player. The multi-talented kicker made all six field goal tries, which equalled a career high. In addition, he made two extra point conversions and had two punts for singles, totalling 22 points in Montreal's 40-27 win over Calgary in a rematch of last year's Grey Cup.

Belli was the Canadian player of the week after recording a pair of sacks and three tackles in Toronto's win.
